Skincare 101: Guide To Laying The Foundation of an Amazing Skincare Routine
Skincare can be overwhelming. I hear this from so many of my clients, and I get it. That used to be me. I've been obsessed with skincare since I was young, but I don't think I ever knew what to do. I followed anyone’s advice and would play around with skincare, without knowing what I was doing.
There’s nothing wrong with experimenting, but I really wanted to do things right and to educate myself on what was best for my skin. That’s why I became an esthetician. Really, it was a very selfish reason: I wanted to know how to best care for my skin.
As I learned more, I realized how little I actually knew. And how important it is to be educated as a consumer. And I really enjoy educating my clients and sharing this information.
And it seems like my clients feel similarly. Last week, I was talking to a client who complained about the fact that there are way too many products, so many steps she “should” be doing in her routine, and how despite doing all of this, she was still feeling like there was something wrong with her because her skin was not what she expected after all the investment she’s made.
If you don’t know where to start, read on, I got you!
I certainly recommend getting help from a professional whenever possible and when you need further guidance. But I also think that you can have fun with skincare on your own and help yourself.
So I decided to help you navigate this process and I made a guide. This is what I wish I had early on my skincare journey and what I think will make your journey less overwhelming.
Throughout January, we’ve been talking all about laying the groundwork and setting a good skincare routine.
This guide is the culmination of this process. In it, you’ll find all the basic skincare knowledge you need, as well as practical tools and advice.
