Hola! I’m Monica. I’m originally from Venezuela but have been in the US for over a decade.
I love building relationships and understanding why people behave the way they do. This led me to my masters in Social Work at Columbia University. Along the way, I became interested in making an impact on a larger scale. Therefore, I finished my masters with a focus on administration and human service management. I strive to empower others.
I’ve worked in mental health organizations 1:1 with clients to help them navigate difficult situations. I’ve done business development for social enterprises. I’ve been involved with a healthcare consulting firm. And I’ve done project management for a health tech startup. I have experience working in both small and larger teams and have worked on strategy and execution.
But the passion I have for skin care transcends all my past experiences.
I pursued this and became a licensed esthetician in 2019. This really expanded my knowledge of consumer behavior and grew my interest in the skin care industry even further. Earlier this year I started Aïam Skin. The work with clients and products has deepened my understanding of what consumers are looking for as well as where the gaps in knowledge and education are.
I’m highly committed to this industry and to my work.
